EIGRP K Values

Just for reference:

K1 = bandwidth
K2 = load
K3 = delay
K4 = reliability
K5 = Additional Reliability modifier [reference]

Good sumary here

Cisco docs

  1. Not quite. MTU isn't a factor in calculating EIGRP metrics. K4 and K5 both influence the inclusion of reliability in the metric calculation.

  2. Unfortunately, somewhat misleading. What you list are the components of "vector metric". K values are the factors in the formula used to calculate "composite metric" (single value used when comparing routes).

  3. This has being the post of infamy!. I'm going to have to write a proper entry on the subject ;)
